re:saeco's new jersey - 2006/06/24 10:04 They get away with it by cutting the seam at the bottom and then rolling it up. If the sleeve is already loose, they don't need to cut it. As long as the fabric is intact, I don't think they get fined. That is how it has been enforced AFAIK.

cannondale's new bike is just under the legal weight and this was the teams way of protesting UCI Min. weight rule.

re:saeco's new jersey - 2006/06/24 18:35 It's no protest. It's marketing. Every manufacturer there could build a bike under the UCI weight limit.

re:saeco's new jersey - 2006/06/25 00:21 Any word on whether or not anyone on Saeco got fined for not having sleeves? One or two riders had very abbreviated jerseys in the first two mountain stages. Or is it OK because the shoulders were covered?

re:saeco's new jersey - 2006/06/25 04:15 But why would that jersey be deemed irregular? Just because of the protest printed on it? Or was there something else irregular about it?

re:saeco's new jersey - 2006/06/25 11:17 So, what do you think: when Cannondale starts selling this bike, will they include a little set of weights with it with stern instructions about how the weights must be added if this bike is to be used in any race held under the sanction of the UCI?

Might be amusing the first time one Cat 4 nitwit protests another Cat 4 nitwit's bike at a local crit due to a weight violation.
