re:Ullrich's Record Still Intact - 1999/09/08 02:42 I don't think TH is lacking any attributes compared to Tasker. TH has ridden in the shadow of LANCE for quite a few years now. Hamilton's rise in the sport was much more gradual than LANCE's, but I think it would have been impossible for either one to have handled their abilities any better than they have done.

TH has always had a great deal of respect from those within the sport. Now that he has moved on from a super domestique to leader, his results are speaking for themselves. However, even now he still is riding in the shadow of LANCE. Without his broken bones, he would be almost just an afterthought to the mainstream media and Ms. Gum, just as Hampsten was in the shadow of
Lemond.

re:Ullrich's Record Still Intact - 1999/09/08 04:53 I do. But Tasker was undersized, too slow, didn't have the skills and still went to the pro bowl more often than not.
Same guts, different sport.

re:Ullrich's Record Still Intact - 1999/09/08 10:28 I can relate to Ullrich's feelings, but as far as football goes, I am from
Pittsburgh and being that we have gone to the Superbowl 5 times and won 4, I am used to being on the winning end of things.

re:Ullrich's Record Still Intact - 1999/09/09 02:10 best result was in a driving hailstorm in a U-13 race in Germany. He took 4th.
He's more focused on 'cross this year. Must be a bad weather thing.
Niche sport, little coverage. Tyler is getting quite a bit here in New
England, but I think that is thanks to all the people here who have worked their ass off to raise the awareness of the sport here. Bill C

re:Ullrich's Record Still Intact - 1999/09/09 11:49 Jan could've easily won 96...but Riis was the main guy in the same team, Telekom.

In 98 only if Pantani would have found to be doped.
