They're in Kansas, too.

A mountain lion that has been seen and photographed on Kansas
University's west campus may have a companion -- possibly a mountain lion cub.

Being a former Kansan (with two brothers who attended KU) the idea of a
MOUNTAIN lion is Kansas causes a large grin to appear on my face. Maybe they should be called bump lions in Kansas.

Ya, just "Mount" Oread in Lawrence, atop which sits the KU campus.
Good for short hill sprint repeats x 20 (14th Street from Tennessee
St. to Oread Blvd.). I'd guess the top of the hill is 900-920 ft.
above sea level.
The Riverfront Park trails in Lawrence are 800 ft. elev. (with about
20 feet of elevation gain/9 mile lap).
The porch of the Free State Brewery in downtown Lawrence is about 850 ft. elev.
Of course, Kansas is the home of Steve Tilford, who knows a thing or two about mountain biking.
The highest point in the state? Mt. Sunflower, 4039 ft. elev.
(From americasroof.com)
Mount Sunflower has been upgraded with a picnic shelter and a attractive steel sculpture made of railroad spikes. There is a mailbox, a little rail fence enclosing the area, and a plaque indicating that "nothing happened here in 1897"
Mount Sunflower is less than a mile from Colorado (and very close to
Colorado's lowest point!).
I do miss the topography of Washington State, my home until 1997.
