Please help - my first purchase - 2009/06/23 00:02 I am buying my first road bike and planning on using it for commuting to work (6 miles) and starting sprint-distance triathlons.

The two options I've found in my price range and neighborhood are a Trek 2120 and a Cannondale CAAD3 Saeco. The Cannondale looks to be in a little better condition but is $200 more. Also after talking to a couple of bike salesman I am reluctant to go for the Aluminum (Cannondale) option.

If anyone can give me their succinct thoughts on the comparison, I would be really grateful!!
