Campag 8 Speed Cassette on 9speed hub - 2009/07/02 11:35 Morning chaps,

I bought a load of second hand parts of someone, hoping to transfer them off his bike straight onto a frame I had. The seeler was running all the gear on his bike, so I assumed it would all fit together on mine....it's never that easy

Problem is he seems to have been running an 8 speed shifter and derailleur on a 9 speed cassette/hub - so I can't use the biggest sprocket, and the shifting isn't quite spot on for the rest of the cogs.

Can I buy an 8 speed cassette and run that on a 9 speed hub?

All parts are Veloce, from 98-99 I think.
