V-Brake Adjustment - 2009/12/25 20:38 Hello friends. I have a 5 year old GT Zaskar Expert, a lightwieght hard tail which I love. It has V-Brakes which were all the rage back then. The "centering" adjusment is a small screw on each side below the pad. I have finally got them screwed all the way in. I don't know if this means the "end of the trail" for this adjustment or if there is something else I need to do. Any advice welcome. Thanks. Malcolm

A 60someting woman had a rear tire flat on a club ride. Two guys changed the flat. The wheel had some rub on the pads once reinstalled. They immediately started tweaking the brakes to "align" them. Turned out the problem wasn't the brakes at all the wheel wasn't properly seated in the dropouts. Be sure the cable and caliper assemblies are lubed and move freely. If you can get to your Local Bike Shop, it may be a few bucks well spent to see how it is fixed.If you avoid peak traffic times (Saturdays), they may do it while you wait. Good luck!
