I just bought a new SRAM PC69 chain today. I had to buy the Gold Master
Link separately and then I noticed there was a pin sticking out on one of the end links.
Does anybody use this end pin?
Or do you let it go with the trimmed off part and use the Master Link anyway?
The latter is what I intended unless someone will talk me into something else.

12-25 to 12-27 install?

I recently purchased a 12-27 cassette (dura-ace, heavily discounted)
to replace the 12-25 (ultegra) that came on my road bike. I have a few questions about installation before I go and do something that will damage my bike. I've only got 400 miles on the bike so far, so it's not worn out, I just want a slightly lower gear, which isn't used very frequently....

I'm debating the benefits of getting a Ultegra Chain/cluster combo over the Dura-Ace.

I'm just about to start Crit racing (D Grade) Should I spend the extra on Dura-Ace or would Ultegra do me just as well?

Opinions on the pro's and con's would be appreciated.

I installed all my new triple stuff. I went from nearly bone stock
105 (except ultegra 12-27 cassette and dura-ace chain) to Ultegra triple crank, Ultegra 68x118[.5?] BB, Ultegra FD, 105 GS (long cage)
rear derailer, Wipperman ConneX nickel-plated chain.

The cranks, BB, and FD went smoothly and properly -- these are the parts with which I expected trouble, but no trouble was found.

Dumb question, no doubt, but why stop now?

I stocked up on (well, bought 3) PC-99 chains a while back, intending to use on my mountain bike.

Now that I've been riding a road bike for 7-8 months, just wondering if I can use a PC-99 on it when time comes to replace chain. Current setup is full Ultegra.
