I'm planning to build up a bike frame, and am wondering if people could recommend a tool set that has all the necessary items for this task. There seem to be a few out there on the market, which presumably are of varying quality and completeness.

I have minor repair tools around the house (i.e., chain tool, allen wrenches, etc.) but need quite a bit more.

Can Dura Ace headset (HP-7410) bearings (part number 787 9803) be purchased as a service part?

I just want to replace the bearings, not the shiny aluminium parts.

Where can I get them for less than the cost of a new headset?

Why is my Dura Ace headset so tight?

I had a shop remove a Super Record HS from a lovely 1983 Marinoni Special and install a Dura Ace 7400 HS.

I installed the DA stem and tightened up the HS. If I just snug up the top cup so the steering is nice and easy, the fork moves in the steerer and I can see the top cup move. If I go tighter on the cup so the fork don't move, steering gets really hard.

Getting ready to install a new suspension fork on my mtn bike. This is the third fork install but the first where there was no crown race already on the fork.

Question: Is the crown race headset specific or are they generic in nature?
