11 tooth chain skip with new equipment
In category Tech issues
Written by amdonati

I have a new Campy Record 11/21 cassette on my race wheels, and I recently changed chains from Wipperman 10 speed to Campy 10 speed. I used the
Wipperman link. To my surprise the link causes a skip on the 11 tooth cog.
Has anyone experienced this with a similar setup? Will a SuperLink fix it?

I'm looking for a set of wheels and like the potential durability advantage of a triplet spoke pattern on the rear. Rather than spend big $$ on
Campagnolo, I was thinking of giving the Gipiemme's that I've found on eBay a try:

Seems like a hybrid between the Campy and Bontrager. Any inputs on the components an

I need some new wheels for training and Campagnolo Scirocco seems like good value for money (on paper anyway). Does anybody have any experience with these wheels, good or bad? My setup is Veloce 9sp.

I had a pair of Campag wheels years ago and remember that tyres were very difficult to get on and off. Also the hubs were not well sealed and let water in very easily. Has Campag sorted that out yet?

I've just had an excellent summer getting back into more serious bicycle riding. I'd quit riding in the early 80's in Australia but saw a Colnago frame on sale here (Sweden) so I couldn't resist - bought a box of parts (hubs, spokes, etc) and, a few thousand dollars later, am riding myself back in reasonable shape (I'm 43 now).

Now . . . I went and bought clincher wheels because of how they've d

re:Reynolds wheels: Stiff or not?

I'm in the market for race wheels. I've raced on everything form
Specialized trispokes (stiffest) to Shimano 7701s (softest). I prefer stiff as possbile.

I'm looking at Reynolds carbon wheels... but does anyone know if these wheels are stiff? How would they compare to Ksyriums, for example?

re:Ritchey - serious customer service

Just wanted to pass along a rather positive experience with Ritchey.
I have their WCS wheels and had the freehib get all jammed up on me.
After a number of LBS attempts to fix it, I contacted them, they said they'd look at it. They fixed the freehub, rebuilt the wheel on a new rim (shop had dammaged it trying to get the freehub off the wrong way), and shipped it back to me no questions asked.

I'm currently in the market for a bike to use for triathlons, training & the occasional commute. Can somebody summarise what are the pro's & con's of buying a time-trail bike rather then a traditional road bike.

re:Problem with Sora crank replacement for 105

I've seen people say that a good option for a replacement square taper crank these days is a Sora or Tiagra.

So I have an old Bridgestone on which I replaced the old 105 (87 vintage)
cranks (model FC-1050) with a new Sora. I'm using a SRAM PC-89 chain and figured I might have to swap the stainless rings (8 speed) for Aluminum. I stuck a set of 9 speed Dura Ace wheels into the 126 mm rear end.
