re:How are fenders (mudguards) made?

I'm interested in making my own fenders, from metal sheet. Some looking around on the net suggests that an English Wheel is used to form fenders, but does anyone here know how to get the shorter, or transverse curve? How about beading the edge?

I am not concerned with the attachment hardware.

Any pointers welcome, especially from auto body savvy readers.
