Wheel Safety:
Vredestein clinchers are not recommended on our wheels. We think their tire bead is too loose for our wheels, and if used at the manufacturers recommended max pressure, there is a fair chance they could blow off the rim after an extended period of braking.

I used to use Continental GP3000 tyres, and found them perfectly satisfactory for some time. However, the most recent batch I bought were no good; the 23C tyre [1] was impossibly tight -

Now, I know at this point I'm going to get a lot of helpful tyre fitting suggestions. I've been cycling all my life; I have _never_ before encountered a tyre I could not fit, for my own bike or for friends.
