re:removing cups from schwinn frame and forks

Hello all. I am starting to restore a 60's era Schwinn middleweight type frame. I am trying to remove the bearing cups from both the forks and bottom bracket. I would also like to remove the chrome crown from the forks. So far I have not had any luck dislodging the cups or the crown and thought I might try torching the areas with a propane torch to break the seal of time. Any hints? Thanks!

I have a Trek 8900 carbon frame mountain bike that I love. Recently I bought a new marzocchi fork and now I can not get the fork to stay tight. It has bearing cups already in the head tube. I just wanted to know if anyone has experience with this type of head tube and what type of headset I need to use??? Any help appreciated. Frustrated
