I'm buying one next month! Those bikes are friggin tough!!

Those bikes just keep on ticking.

Trek could use this years TDF as an ad for the durability of Trek frames!

My hardtail has a 27.2 post shimmed to 28.6.
My FS is 27.2.

I'm thinking about buying another post. Would a 28.6 post be significantly stronger than a 27.2? If so, I might opt to give up the interchangability.

Instead of getting a new road bike this fall I am getting myself a kick bum pair of wheels built up for my current road bike. I am looking for recommendations on hubs and I consider the desired traits I value the same as I do for mountain wheels. In my view here are my qualifications in order:

1. smoothness of the bearings
2. durability of the hub overall
3. strength of the axel
4. light weight

Perhaps some of you folk who work at bike shops can tell me. I ordered a 2004 Trek 5200 nearly two weeks ago from a LBS and it still isn't in. Is this normal? Do shops order directly from Trek themselves or is there a supplier that shops order their stuff from?

When I ordered the bike 2 weeks ago the shop said it should take about
1 to 2 weeks for it to come in.

re:Tire Wear -- Front vs Rear

I put a set of 'new' tires on my wife's road bike last year; and, I just noticed today that the 'tread' had worn much more on the rear tire than the front tire. I assume this is due to the obvious fact that greater weight distribution is upon the rear tire. However, we have three road bikes and
I just never noticed such an apparent difference on any of them before.
