Is it worth getting frame cold set?

I'm starting the process of redoing my 14 year old touring bike, and changing from Suntour 7 speed to Shimano 9 speed in the process. The rear is spaced at 130mm. Certainly I can go with Shimano road hubs, but is it worth getting the rear respaced to 135mm so mt bike hubs will fit? I assume a stronger wheel can be built with the wider mt bike hub. Is there any issue with the 10mm axle diameter

I am thinking about low gearing for 2 to 3 trips to the Mountains next year, I can get far on my Mirage equiped bike 39 x 25 but on long climbs after long day in saddle or on steep climbs I can use a smaller gear. (I use both Shimano hubs and Campy hubs of 9-spd without problems)

I don't wanna put a lot of money into the bike as I prefer to take my old bike on a plane (isn't a big deal financiall

I am currently putting together the pats list for a new bicycle. While I was planning around the Ultegra group, I was pointed to Avid's road type mechanical disc brakes, for which I found some rather positive reviews.
As I would want to use this bike also for traveling, this is an interesting option. From what I gathered, these brakes are compatible with the Ultegra brake/shift levers.

Extra sets of pawls won't make any difference, because only one bears the load.
Even if the pawls are designed to engage simultaneously, there's no way to make tolerances in a bike hub tight enough so that more than one set bears the load.
Several hub makers have used this as an advertising hook, but it's a load of garbage.

That isn't to say that Phil Hubs don't have *stronger* pawls than Shimano
