Beer can bikes that might last 2 years at most, now are the only choice. I picked up an early 70s Gitane track frame at a bike swap this past weekend. The bottom bracket shell is French threaded. I know that I could probably run a tap through it to English thread it, but I would rather not if I can help it. So . . .

So I started looking on the web for french threaded bottom brackets.

i came across a jamis mountain bike hardtail frame that looks like it might fit. its a durango SX, triple gauge 7005 aluminum with no fork and no damage that i can see, EXCEPT 3/4 of the threads on the drive side of the bottom bracket shell are stripped out starting from the outside. i can still see the threads but i doubt they will hold a cup.
