re:Front STI shifter/derailleur adjustment

I just took my Giant TCR1 Composite in for it's first tuneup. Due to cable stretch, the front derailleur was having some difficulty shifting from the
39 chainring to the 53 chainring. I got the bike back and now the indexing of the front STI is spread to the point where it takes at least 2-3 sweeps of the STI shifter to make the shift.

re:Radius Cantilever Adjustment Problems

I recently bought a pair of radius cantis for my cross bike.
I'm having trouble finding the "sweet spot" for the staddle wire carrier position.

I've looked at Sheldon Brown's canti geometry page which was helpful, but the angles are way different on these brakes and are more like the "wide profile" design that he dismisses as obsolete and inferior to low/medium profile cantis.
