I'm thinking of converting to a 2004 Campy Record group. But I have a
Shimano compatible Mavic/King wheelset that I'd like to keep. My question is this: would a Dura Ace 10 cassette be compatible with a
Record 10 drivetrain?

I'm getting closer to figuring out what to do with my touring bike (13 year old Bruce Gordon Rock 'n Road currently w/ Suntour XC Comp; 130mm rear spacing; 68mm bottom bracket). My plan is to strip it down this winter, and send it out to be repainted and then rebuild it with a new drivetrain. So now some questions...

I am sure gearing is like favorite colors. Everybody has one and the are mostly different

I mostly wanted to talk about compact cranksets and what my riding wil be like...

re:29 cog with short cage campy derailleur?

Has anyone tried this? My largest cog is 26 and i think there is still a little bit of space. Would like to hear from anyone with a short cage record derailleur, will it work or not?
