Howdy. It seems like everyday there is a new post about a frustrating bike creak/tick/knock, and every other day a frustrating squealing brake. The FAQ doesnt have much in teh way of practical advice here.

Yes, I know that it always boils down to 'find every possible interface, starting with the big ones, and grease and tighten them', but everyone always has such good things to say.

re:Mavic MA-40 - Piece of Crap?

I got a flat on my bike's rear yesterday. So today while I had the rear wheel apart, I took it over to my neighbor's for a minor truing. On the way back home with the wheel, I noted that the MA-40 rim is cracking in several places near where the sidewalls meet the other part of the rim. It looks like the eyelet is being pulled toward the hub. This is like the 4th or 5th one of these rims to do thi

I am building a single speed disc wheel for my 29er. I am going to lace a
Paul SS WORD disc hub into a 36 hole Mavic T520.

I weigh 215 fully loaded and ride mostly rooty, rocky single track.

Which would be a better lacing for me 3 or 4 cross?
