After his bit of cyclecross after Beloki's crash at last year's tour, with the peloton bearing down on him, Lance crossed the road before getting back onto his bike. Why do you think he didn't just hop back on as soon as his feet touched the tarmac on the right side of the road, instead of crossing in front of a descending peloton?

And no, "To get to the other side" isn't the answer I'm looking f

I decided to take a slow day at the Vincennes bike course just outside Paris, and rode with some really slow old guys, and ended up learning quite a lot.
They were riding at about 22kph average, but doing an 80 km ride...

Anyway, this guy was at least 75 years old, and had encyclopedic knowledge of cycling, including results of the current world track championships, which I found pretty surprisin

Congrtas to LA for a well deserved win. The dedication, the mental strength and the superiority in his sport is really amazing. Reminds me of Michael when he had total control of Basketball.
But who's the greater athlete?

MJ- the ultimate competitor, refuses to lose, always finds a way to win, never failed in any level.

LA- overcame cancer, argueably in a tougher sport, the best cycler ever.

Does anyone here have "the" photo of Sean Kelly's legs? It's shot from his knees down and he's standing on a podium. His cycling shoes are wrapped with duct tape and every muscle group in his legs is distinguishable and the circulatory pipes are enlarged from internal pressure like a mofo.

After more than ten years of mountainbiking (and lurking on r.b.t for the better part of those ten years) I hit the road two years ago, first with a '96 Klein Quantum II (53 cm c-t), and the last year a '00
Cannondale Cyclocross (52 cm c-t).

About a year (and one winter) has passed since I have seen any reviews of winter cycling shoes. I am prepared to purchase the new model from either Lake or Gaerne, but would like to hear pros/cons and other recommendations from similarly cold-footed riders.

In particular, can anyone confirm that Lake or Gaerne winter shoes can/cannot work with Speedplay (X/2) cleats?
