re:Indurain TT position

For a big bloke Indurain looks very aerodnamic to me (not to mention having great style). I think he had a large frontal area - wide shoulders - which would have contributed to drag. He definely looks more aero than Armstrong (although Armstrong would have a narrower frontal area).

Incidently I dont think Armstrong ever findished within 5 minutes of
Indurain in a TdF time trial (generally he used

Hello folks'n fans on rbr!

I'm glad to tell you that I will win this year's Tour da France!
Why I am so certain? Well, let's have a look at my opponents, at least the two 'serious' (*giggle*) ones:

1. Ulrich has a very poor condition, after each race he is so tired he can't even talk a sentence to the media. This mutherfocking German bastard gives no intweviews. Incredible. He simply is not wor

tdf - great for local fans

The Alpe d'Huez will be great for spectators watchng the riders going up all day long, but you'll have to get up early or camp overnight to get a spot on the road. btw, its pronounced "aalp d'ew eh" where the eh is sort of between a short e and short a in english.

Stage 17 is a classic alpine stage for maillot à pois contenders, even though it doesn't have a gc-deciding mountain top finish. Pl

"If Armstrong rode both the Giro d'Italia and then the Tour de France we'd see how good he really is, for better or worse," Simoni said after the Giro presentation in Milan Saturday.

"He has said he wants to ride the Giro at least once during his career and this could be the right moment to do it," he added. "Next year the Giro finishes at the end of May and the hardest stages of the Tour de Fran

There's a very pertinent futuristic article in Cycling For All at http://www.cycling4all.com reporting on the cycling scene for roadies in 2014.

And it is all the more pertinent for myself personally since I intend to spend whatever scant years I have left before the Reaper cuts me down on the road riding UFOLEP and Masters type events in France, Belgium and Italy and I was wondering how long it

Calculation of Allround (Combined) standings in la Vuelta

Does anybody know the formula that is used to calculate the points that give the standings in the Allround (Combination) competition in la Vuelta.

Alejandro Valverde [who also currently leads the points (sprinting)

I'll have to disagree; there's very little to compare to the thrill of being on a steep mountain climb and watching the shattered peloton come through. You are *so* close to the action that you become almost a part of it (especially if you're flinging a handbag around), and the drama unfolds in front of you over a significant period of time, not fleeting seconds.

True, you've got to get to your

according to some calculations, that would be roughly 1300 calories needed just to power the bike.

is it ok to eat what would normally be considered junk food, to get these calories?

assume the daily requirements of vitamins, proteins, minerals, etc are met by other, decent food. and assume you don;t want or need to lose any weight.

Last Spring I came here asking for opinions on getting an electric hybrid bicycle to overcome my bad knee and chronic fatigue. The opinions were pretty generally negative, with most people saying that with all that weight it just made more sense to get a good road bike. The manufacturer, on the other hand, makes it sound as if the bike will take you up any hill, and is great for commuting. Because
