In the OLN highlight show, Lance mentioned changing shoes just before the TdF. He complained of hip trouble (IIRC) as a result.

Thoughts? What model were they? Something unavailable to the pub I assume. Ones just out of the proto shop? Nike must be a bit upset about his public griping. This on top of Tiger dropping their driver.

If you were spec'ing out a new carbon-fiber bike with Shimano components, which parts of the grouppo would you choose Dura-Ace, and which Ultegra? I understand that at least for certain components, Ultegra might be preferable to DA.

Weight is important to me, but the ability to handle 4000-5000 miles a year without excessive maintenance/wear is even more important. I don't want to be replacing

Anyone got any idea why we're seeing so many unpainted carbon frames at present? Presumably the resin is epoxy, and epoxy degrades (weakens) in UV light, including sunlight. My experience is that it loses integrity remarkable quickly - some epoxy boat parts I've made and left unpainted have failed in under a year, when equivelent painted parts show no signs of degradation.
