Anybody know an improvised way to push on a fork crown race onto the fork and push on a headset cup onto the frame without the expensive tools, i.e. using regular tools. Hammering with rubber mallets etc. can damage the parts, if Aluminum etc.

Help, I've just bent my set of dust seals from my XTR front hub. Shimano just called them "seals", but basically they are the little metal covers that "just press" into the hub body above the bearings if you know what I mean. They tend to be very thin, and I'm quite clumsy!

Trouble is, I've never figured out how to remove them (either from the freehub body or from eitherside of the the front hub,

I am trying to decide whether or not to invest $100.00 or so in a Park press for headset cup installation. I've used them before, and they do work well.
