I've seen some discussion on "cures" for Look cleat squeak, but I've tried them all and the noise is still driving me nuts. I've tried candle wax, Vaseline, WD-40, grease, filing the nose of the cleat, rubber strips glued to pedal rubbing point, pieces of plastic bag between cleat and pedal, green leaves (roadside emergency method) and all of these work for about 10 miles max, then *creak, creak*.

I'm interested in upgrading my current Look style Shimano pedals (PD-6401)
with the latest Ultegra pedals (PD-R600). I plan to continue using my Look shoes which currently have the Look red cleats mounted. The shoes only accept the Look style cleats (ie. three bolt pattern, one in front, two in back).

Can anyone confirm that the new cleats will fit the same bolt pattern as the old cleats? I have

Hi - replaced Look road pedals on my winter beater with Nashbar
Ventoux - being a cheap SOB, I couldn't resist pedals and cleats at $24.95. From the photos in the catalog, I assumed the cleats as well as the pedals were complete (compatible) Look knock-offs. As it turns out, the Nashbar cleat has a slightly different shape in the back than the Look. On the trainer, it seems as though my Look shoes

I would like to know what the two adjustment screws are for.
the one on the bottom says "adjust" with a - and + arching arrow the one on the back says "mode" with a M and S arching arrow
