I am thinking about brifters for my bicycle. Do I need to be concerned about compatibility with my sidepull caliper brakes? If so, what are the relevant specifications I should be looking for? Are there options beyond Shimano and
Campagnolo? I'm looking at a 7-speed setup.

Recommendations for specific models are welcome too.

i want to put ergo/sti levers on my triathlon bike. but cause i´m a student i got a very small budget.
my bike got an 8speed dura ace cassette and a 9speed shimano ultegra rear rd. is it possible to use sachs ergopower to shift?

i know that campa produces the sachs ergos, but i think i heard that the index is for shimano 8speed dr.
i am shure that the 9speed ultegra works with a shimano 8speed i
