Ergo with 7 speed Shimano

I'd like to upgrade to brifters on my 7 speed Dura-Ace equiped road bike. I also very much like the style of brifters from Campagnolo. Is there any mechanism to take a Campy Ergo lever and make it work with Shimano 7 speed?
I've read the details on how to make Ergo's work with Shimano 8 speed and 9 speed setups, but have never seen anything about 7 speed.

Excuse this maybe simple question but being a Campag user all my life, this ones stumping me!

I bought a second hand bike to use for commuting, it has a Shimano 7 speed cassette. I stripped the whole bike down to clean and adjust everything but...have one bit over!

Campy drivetrain setup for touring

I'm getting closer to figuring out what to do with my touring bike (13 year old Bruce Gordon Rock 'n Road currently w/ Suntour XC Comp; 130mm rear spacing; 68mm bottom bracket). My plan is to strip it down this winter, and send it out to be repainted and then rebuild it with a new drivetrain. So now some questions...

re:Better Barrel Adjusters

Does anyone have any suggestions for some higher quality replacement shifter cable barrel adjusters? The bike currently has down tube mounted adjusters and they have tended to corrode and look bad.

They also have the tendency to twist with every turn of the headset.
Unfortunately, they rarely twist and untwist in exactly the same amount which causes the shifter to constantly go out of adjustment
