From Brian Head ski resort to Parowan. The sign at the top says "13% next ten miles." The starting elevation is about 10000 feet.

The road is pretty uniformly sloped, and feels ugly steep in a car. I don't know if it would be fun either going up or down on a bike. With the steepness, twistiness and thin air at the top it feels like a 60+ mph descent where one struggles to avoid becoming roadk

Hey, what do you he-men out there do about your crotch while cycling?
I think all them years of hard riding are finally catching up with me (LOL) -- would y'all please recommend something like, I dunno, special seats, seat posts, underwear, shocks, etc.?? What's the science on this unfortunate "occupational hazard", anyway? Links, citations, please?

I was watching the DVD version of the 2003 Tour de France (12 hours, my friends) and I notice that Sylvain Chavanel chugged a regular Coke as the passed over the top of the Tourmelet.

Can that be right? I wouldn't think that's the best source of energy in the middle of a race.

Since the weather has become so cold I have avoided riding for several days, several times. I notice that after four or five days of not riding my knee hurts. When I start riding (ten miles a day) again, the pain goes away, and stays away for four or five days. After four or five days without riding the pain comes back. The pain seems to be under the kneecap. Does this happen to anyone else? Anyon

if you could position your center of gravity anywhere, to ensure maximum braking power, where would it be?

obviously over the front wheel is no good, you would flip.

there is a point, leaning either ahead of the front wheel, or behind the back wheel, that the opposite wheel is off the ground.

clearly those are 2 limits, the answer must lie between them.

I got a Mongoose frame and RockShox fork from eBay to build up. I had read Zinn's The Art of Mountain Biking Maintenace and a Haynes manual, and it didn't look that hard.
