In less than a week's time I've had two inner tubes fail when the valve stem pulled out of the inner tube. The tubes have Presta valves and I'm using a Park Tool tire pump. Any thoughts as to what is going on here?
Besides being annoying it is starting to get expensive. And yes I'm releasing the lock before trying to pull the pump fitting off of the valve stem.

Is it possible to use my Blackburn Track/Floor pump with its built in air pressure gauge as a Shock Pump to inflate my Mazocchi Bomber air suspension forks to about 40 psi.

re:maturing tires

Has anyone ever come across the concept of "maturing" tires i.e.
leaving them for a period of time before using them - the idea being that they are less susceptible to punctures and cuts.

The reason why I ask this is that at the start of the year I put on an new pair of Continenal Grand Prix foldable tires (which are no longer manufactured) on my bike. The tires had been in storage in my shed for

For those who like to make and own something special, I propose that you build a double acting tire pump, one that will fill a conventional
28mm road tire to 100psi in ten strokes. I built such gadgets for myself and friends who use them for all tire pumping. Check out Carl
