Let's see: minimize rotational weight; maximize lateral stiffness and radial strength. Is there anything else to consider, other than price, and how well the wheels hold up over time? That being said, static weight may be an approximate indication of roational weight, but just how do you find out which rim/spoke/hub/lace combination offers the greatest lateral stiffness and radial strength?

What makes a $400 wheelset a $400 wheelset?

For my Christmas gift, I received a WTB Momentum SL Wheelset purchased from
Performance Bicycle Mail Order.

The wheelset MSRP was listed at $399.98 -- but was being closed out at $100 to $120 depending on timing of the sale.

From my point of view.. these WTB wheelset rolls no more better than my Shimano
STX-RC winter wheelset and fa

I took the kickstand off of my bike. I found that I never used it because I always lock my bike to a post or bike-rack anyway. And if I did use it, I was always at some risk that my bike would get knocked over. I always think a bike looks better without a kickstand anyway. But, when parking, it is often times a hassle getting a bike situated so it won't flop to one side or the other. Think about i
